This is Gateway2Growth: a group that has been set-up to campaign for the creation of a new junction from the M4 to support businesses and the local community in Emersons Green, near Bristol.

The proposed Junction 18A would address increasing residential and commercial demands being placed on Emersons Green, which is already experiencing significant growth. Over the next 10 years, it is anticipated that 7,000 new jobs will be created in the area, which will create a massive boost for the West of England’s economy.

Since its inception in March 2015, the campaign has made big strides.

It has cross-party support from local politicians, has been debated in the House of Commons and has been raised directly with the Prime Minister.

A business case for the new junction has been compiled by academics at the University of Bath and launched on 16 September in Parliament.

The new junction has been on the political agenda for years but the current increase in development in the area means that the need for Junction 18A is becoming more pressing than ever before.

The campaign has the support of many businesses and local people.
