01 Jul Gateway2Growth Report to have National Launch in Parliament
A report making the case for a new Junction 18A to be built off the M4 at Emersons Green is to have its national launch in Parliament in September.
The report is being written by experts from the University of Bath and it will outline the business case for the new junction, which is vital if South Gloucestershire’s road infrastructure is to keep pace with the area’s growth.
Amongst those speaking at the event will be Dr Phil Tomlinson, University of Bath’s Associate Professor in Business Economics, Transport Minister Andrew Jones, Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore, and Adam Ward, Regional Director of Quantum, the owners of Bristol & Bath Science Park. The event will also provide a platform for discussion between local residents, business leaders and politicians.
The launch event follows the release of a petition in support of the Gateway2Growth campaign, which is attracting strong levels of support [link to petition / new coverage]. This has been signed by MPs and councillors from across all the main parties and will be used to highlight the strong support for Junction 18A from across the local community.
